Richard P. Kubitz Sr., 73, residing in Sandusky, passed away Sunday morning, March 19, 2017 at the Regency Toledo Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Richard was born on April 18, 1943 in Sandusky, OH to the late Paul F. Kubitz and Mary Louise (Cammalleri) Mathers.
Richard retired from the Ford Motor Company after 38 years of service. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, cats, guns, knives, working in the garage, Harley's, bowling, gambling, joking around and spending time with his family and friends. He was proud of his 2003 Harley Davidson 100th Anniversary bike.
Richard is survived by his wife, Carole E. (Seville) Kubitz, whom he married on July 4, 1964 He is also survived by daughters, Michele (Tom) Shade of Shelby and Nicole (David) George of Vickery; son, Eric (Tracy) Kubitz of Sandusky; grandchildren, Sage "Shengnan", Devon (Autumn), Briahna (Dylan), Joan (Kevin), Kristen (Timothy), Heather (Ben), Justin (Laura), Christine, Mary, Allyson and Rachel; great-grandchildren, Eli, Cam, Dom, Addy, Gaige, Autumn, Elizabeth, Erikka, Anthoni, Vanessa, Cadence, Logan, Holden and Bella; daughter-in-law, Amy Kubitz; brothers, Lenny (Beverly), Eugene (Bonnie) and Jim (Tina) Kubitz and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his son, Richard P. Kubitz Jr. and brother, Tom Kubitz.
Friends may call on Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 12:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky with Father Michael Roemmele officiating. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH.
