Dr. Michael Joseph Smith, 67, of New London, Ohio, joined his Lord in Heaven, Thursday, March 23, 2017, in his home.
He was born February 22, 1950 in Middletown, Ohio, to the late Paul E. and Pauline R. (Thompson) Smith.
Michael was a Pastor for over 40 years, and in his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, reading, writing, fishing, drawing, Bible Study, and praying.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa (Adams) Smith of New London, Ohio, by his children, Tammy (Brad) Doll of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Angela (Matt) Sergent of New London, Ohio, and Rebekah (Doug) Steele, of Norwalk, Ohio, by his grandchildren, Emily (M & M), Tara, Noah, Taylor (Tater), Jacob, Kira, and Titus, by his sister, Lovena Vaughn, and by his brothers, Paul, Tommy, Robert, David, and Bruce.
Michael was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Ferguson, and by his brother, Timmy Smith.
Friends may call on Monday, March 27, 2017 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p .m. in the Norwalk Baptist Church, 2084 U. S. Rt. 20 West, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Roger Green will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk, Ohio.
