Geraldine R. "Gerry" Ritzenthaler, 89, of Sandusky, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017, in Stein Hospice Care Center.
She was born in Sandusky on August 1, 1927.
She was employed by Scott paper, Esmond Diary, and worked 20 years for Ernsberger Restaurant in Sandusky.
Gerry was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the American Legion, and life member of the V.F.W. Post 2529. She loved to play cards, bingo, her flowers, feeding the squirrels, and spending the time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Ann (Tom) Knupke, Diane (William) Todd, and Renee (Jeff) Lange, all of Sandusky; son, Roy (Linda) Ritzenthaler, Dover, Delaware; nine grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; 8 step great-grandchildren; brothers, John (Alma) Toft and James (Jeanette) Toft, both of Sandusky; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony R. "Tony" Ritzenthaler; mother, Esther (Windbeahl) Toft; and Irene and John Brecht, who raised her.
Friends may call on Sunday, April 2, 2017, from 2-5 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Prayer services will be held Monday at 9:30 A.M. in the funeral home, followed by a 10 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Matthew Frisbee will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
