Paul H. Rasmussen, 79, residing in Huron, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.
Paul was born on April 19, 1937 in White Plains, NY to the late Fred and Elizabeth (Merkle) Rasmussen.
Since the 1960's, Paul had been in the automotive industry selling cars or car parts. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force serving 1956 to 1962 during peacetime. He enjoyed golfing, car racing and traveling to New Mexico to visit and spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Paul is survived by his children, Kirsten (Richard) Thibodeau, Erik Rasmussen and Justin (Holly) Rasmussen all of Albuquerque, NM; beloved significant other, Christine Jones of Huron; six grandchildren, Kasey, Tyler, Jordyn, Laura, John and Isiah; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his sister, Elsie Wildnauer and brother, Ted Rasmussen.
Private family services will be held and conducted back home in Albuquerque, NM. Inurnment will be held in the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
