Jean C. (Mockler) Myers, 93, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017 in Gaymont Nursing Center.
She was born September 24, 1923 in Elyria, Ohio, to the late Thomas J. and Ruth (Krause) Mockler, and was raised in the Wakeman area, and lived in the Bismark area during her early married life, before moving to Norwalk, Ohio.
Jean was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, and was active in church prayer groups. She was a member of St. Anne's Study Club of Bismark, and was a volunteer at the Fisher-Titus Medical Center Gift Shop. Jean was a bookkeeper at St. Paul Catholic Church, enjoyed traveling, visiting with people, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Joan Myers of Norwalk, Ohio, Peg Myers (Rand) Lindsay of Cincinnati, Ohio, Elizabeth "Betty" (Tim) Kloppenborg of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mary Kaye (Bill) Gulasey of Corpus Christie, Texas, 6 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Jean is also survived by her sister, Joyce Mockler of Norwalk, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin C. Myers in 2014, by her brother, Thomas Mockler, and by her sisters, Lois Fay, and Elaine Conry.
The family would like to express great appreciation for the kindness and care provided at Carriage House where Jean lived the past 3 years, and also to the staff for the compassionate care provided in the past few weeks by Gaymont Nursing Center, and Stein Hospice Service.
Friends may call on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Msgr. Kenneth Morman will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
