Dr. Paul M. Gordon, 84, of Sandusky passed away Tuesday morning, April 11, 2017 in the Providence Care Center, Sandusky following a lengthy illness.
He was born December 1, 1932 in Lakewood, Ohio and was a U.S. Army veteran.
Paul was a 1951 graduate of Bay Village High School and a 1962 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinarian Medicine. Dr. Gordon was employed by the USDA as a veterinarian federal inspector, working at the Routh Packing Company and the former Sandusky Dressed Beef before retiring in 2001. He attended St. Stephen United Church of Christ in Sandusky and was a former member of the Catawba Island Club.
His interests included model trains, music, boating, animals, and was lovingly referred to as "Mr. Fix-It" by his family.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Janice Konas; two daughters, Kristin Wirkiowski of Pickerington, OH and Kathryn (Paul) Byrne of Santa Monica, CA; two grandchildren, Julia and Cayden Wirkiowski; one sister, Polly Gordon of Millersburg, OH; and one nephew, Jeff (Olya) MacGregor of New York, NY.
He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Gordon in 1976 and his parents, Dr. Paul and Idella (Peters) Gordon.
Family graveside services will be held in the Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmstead, OH. The Rev. Jerald Fenske will officiate.
