David W. Scott, 75, residing in Milan, passed away early Sunday morning, May 7, 2017 at Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.
David was born on March 22, 1942 in Sandusky, OH to the late Fred and Aline (Brogneaux) Scott.
David was a 1961 graduate of Sandusky High School. He retired from the Civilian Marksmanship at Camp Perry working in inventory in 1999 after 17 years of service, and had previously worked at Johnson Furnace. David was a Veteran of the US Army who proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in Germany. David was a member of Edison Memorial United Methodist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards with his poker buddies, going to flea markets, hunting, fishing, cooking, shooting pool, volunteering at Victory Kitchen and the church, and spending time with his family and friends.
David is survived by his loving wife, Marsha (Bennett) Scott, whom he married on March 5, 1993. He is also survived by his three daughters, Shelley (Tony) Iannello of Bellevue, Melinda Thomas of Fairview Park, OH and Pamela (Scott) Young of Hershey, PA; two sons, David (Lori) Scott of Port Clinton and Daniel Irish of Austin, TX; 11 grandchildren, Ryan Iannello, Ashley Andrews, Jeffrey Young, Shane Iannello, Jennifer Young, Logan Iannello, Jason Young, Alli Scott, Lily Thomas, Dawson Scott and Dillon Scott; sisters, Sharron (Don) Suter of Sandusky and Linda McCarthy of Bellevue; brother, Tom (Mary Kay) Scott of Lakeland, FL; sister-in-law, Donna VanAuken of Sandusky and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his sister, Carol Crawford and nephew, Scott Suter.
Friends may call on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 10:00 am until the time of memorial services at 11:00 am at Edison Memorial United Methodist Church, 10 E. Church St., Milan. Pastor Dale Thomas will officiate. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory Milan Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
