Peggy Anne (Gardner) Morency, 83, of Elyria, passed away Sunday afternoon June 4, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at Keystone Pointe in Lagrange, OH.
Peggy was born on October 1, 1933 in Caldwell County, MO to the late Jacob and Russell (Vice) Gardner.
Peggy retired as an LPN after 30 years of service from various places in the community. She was a lifetime member of the Sandusky Amvets Auxiliary. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, camping, crocheting and doing puzzles. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Peggy is survived by her daughters, Teresa (Gordon) Willis of Elyria and Peggy (Tom) Akers of Grafton; son, Richard (JoAnne) Morency Jr. of Sandusky; grandchildren, Marta, Krista, Tiffany, Danny, Heather, Jessica, Sami and Michael; 27 great-grandchildren; sisters, Wanda Lykins of Sandusky, Charlotte LaBonne of FL and Nancy Kirby of IN and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Morency Sr; daughter, Melissa Morency; infant daughter and many brothers and sisters.
Friends may call on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
