Kolman F. "Kal" Matusiczky, 95, of Marblehead passed away Friday, June 9, 2017, in the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky. He was born October 19, 1921 in Albany LA to parents Paul and Julia (Csanyi) Matusiczky.
Kal was a U.S. Navy Gunners Mate First Class WWII Veteran, 1940-1946. After the war he was a farmer, an Auctioneer, Grade A Electrician at Erie Army Depot, a bartender and custodial/maintenance for Danbury Schools and Trinity Methodist Church in Port Clinton -- to name a few.
He loved his family, the outdoors, fishing, hunting, organic gardening, planting trees and cheering for his sons and grandkids at their athletic games.
He is survived by sons, Kalmon, Robert and Steven Hahn, daughters, Sandy Dee and Ellen (Willie) King, sons, Kevin (Penni) Matusiczky, Brian Matusiczky and Fletcher (Kathy) Stevens. His grandchildren include Michael, Chrystle, Jerome, Douglas, Jessica, Matthew, Nathaniel, Jessica, Stephanie, Bobby, Zachary, Nathan and Sarah. He also has several great grandchildren including Harmony and Colton. Dad is also survived by siblings Angie, Leo, Donny, Ida, Stella, Emil and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Shirley (McGuckin), his parents and 9 brothers and sisters.
Kal loved to keep things simple and no fuss, so relatives and friends can join us for a graveside military service on Thursday, June 15th, 11:00 am at Sackett Cemetery on Route 163 in Marblehead. In lieu of gifts or flowers, please donate to your favorite charity, or plant a tree.
