Ernest J. Osborne, Sr., 70, of Monroeville passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born September 3, 1946 in Springfield Township, Ohio and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Ernest was employed as a truck driver at Fillmore Freight Lines, prior to his retirement in 2014. He had a great love of music and was a very talented singer and guitar player in local bands.
He was a member of the American Legion in Monroeville and the VFW in Norwalk.
He is survived by eight children, Theresa Burns of Hartville, Ohio, Tammy (Chris) Surrarrer, Shirley (Mike) Lohr, both of Akron, Theresa (Tim) Brooks of Toledo, Ernest (Amie) Osborne, Jr., Coriena Osborne, Eric Osborne, Sr. all of Monroeville and April Osborne of Toledo; twenty-one grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Courie-Fulks of Akron, Judi (Howard) Haynes of Clarksville, TN, Donna (Bill) Davis of Akron; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally J. Osborne in 2009; his parents, Ernest G. and Sylvia (Dodds) Osborne; his daughter, Miranda; three sisters Shirley, Osie and Erma and two grandchildren.
Graveside military services will be held Friday, June 23, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675.
