LaVonne M. Weinhardt, 63, of Sandusky, passed away Tuesday morning, June 27, 2017 in Stein Hospice Care Center, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Sandusky on December 13, 1953 to the late Charles E. Boger and Donna (Marketti) Millis.
She was a 1971 graduate of Sandusky High School.
Starting as a teacher's aide at Betty Rinderle School, LaVonne, spent the majority of her working life helping individuals with developmental disabilities. She was instrumental in the founding and growth of Renaissance House, Inc., and she retired after 20 years as its Program Manager. She enjoyed boating and fishing on Lake Erie, sewing, reading, and collectables. LaVonne was a compassionate person with a quick wit and a great sense of humor.
LaVonne is survived by her sisters, Darlene Guerra, of Sandusky, Michelle (Kristin) McCarthy, of Galion, and Kris Andra Harrison, of Columbus; brother, Vance Millis; former husband, Robert Weinhardt; first husband, dear friend, and companion, David Feltner; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David M. Feltner; and brother, Charles E. Boger, Jr.
At LaVonne's request, cremation will take place. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
