James H. Fosco Jr.

James H. Fosco Jr., 91, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Monday morning, July 3, 2017, peacefully surrounded by his family at The Commons of Providence.

James was born on March 16, 1926 in Sandusky, OH to the late James H. and Margaret (Windnagle) Fosco Sr.

Jim was a 1944 graduate from Sandusky High School. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. Jim was the founder and owner of Fosco Cement for 50 years. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. Jim was a past commodore of the Sandusky Yacht Club, a lifelong member of the VFW, AMVETS and the American Legion. He was also a member of the Elks and Bricklayer's Union and a former member of the IAB Club. Jim was an avid pilot, boater, golfer and motorcyclist. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events.

Jim is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary (Missione) Fosco. He is also survived by his daughters, Marsha (Bob) Cotton of AZ, Donna Fry and Terri Mullins both of Sandusky; daughter-in-law, Anne Fosco of Sandusky; son, Dean Fosco of CA; grandchildren, Regan, Ryan, Kelly, Katie, Perry "PJ", Mallory and Madison; great-grandchildren, Paige, Dylan, Brody and Marley; sisters, Nancy Irwin of AZ and Tracy Jordan of CA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his son, Steve Fosco; son-in-law, Paul Mullins; sisters, Mary Vassallo and Janet Fosco; and brother, Don Fosco.

Friends may call on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 9:30 am on Monday, July 10, 2017 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Ave., Sandusky. Father Matt Frisbee will officiate. Entombment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
