Frank L. Bitzan, 87, residing in Sandusky, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017, in the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky.
Frank was born on November 15, 1929 in Cleveland, OH to the late Joseph and Emma (Skoch) Bitzan.
He attended St. Ignatius High School and John Carroll University in Cleveland as well as obtaining his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict. Frank retired as an attorney in 1992. Throughout the years he enjoyed traveling, boating and relaxing with friends in the Lake Erie islands.
Frank is survived by his beloved partner, Kay Schwartz; son, John (Sandra) Bitzan of Avon; grandchildren, Alex and Jacob Bitzan; stepson, Rick (Carmen) Greenberg; and step grandson, Aaron Greenberg.
At his request, no visitation will be held and cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 1:30 P.M. in the Giffin Chapel at the Ohio Veterans Home, 3416 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Rev. Joe Steinbauer and Rev. Paul Birmingham will officiate. There will be an additional service at a future date at St. Ignatius.
