Nicholas "Nick" Gregory Mees, 38, residing in Sandusky, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017 at his residence.
Nick was born on September 12, 1978 in Sandusky, OH to Gregory Mees and Harriet Finley.
Nick was a 1996 graduate from Sandusky High School and had attended Kent State University. He was a private contractor. Nick was a member of Venice Road Baptist Church. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Buckeyes, Browns, Cavs and Indians. Nick was the 1996, Division One, 3rd place finisher at the state wrestling meet. He had a contagious smile and had a great love for his family.
Nick is survived by his father, Gregory (Margie Missig) and mother, Harriet Finley. He is also survived by his sister, Abbi (Ray Harris) Mees-Hubans; niece, Isabella; nephews, Roman, Finley and Kingston; special cousins, Ben Byington, Angela Finley-Knox, Jamie Dreschel and Tyson Pengov; special family friend, Elise Bartzen; best friends, Brandon Camp and Brendan Kelley and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other loving relatives.
Nick is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frank and Shirley Mees; step-grandmother, Jean Gast-Mees; maternal grandparents, Mary Sibert Finley Smith, Newton Finley and Thomas Smith.
Friends may call on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 12:00 pm at Faith Memorial Church, 1320 E. Strub Rd., Sandusky. Pastor Ken Hiser will officiate. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
