Preston Lorenzo Walk, 63, Sandusky, was called to his heavenly home by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, in The University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center, Birmingham, AL.
He was born on October 5, 1953 to the late Elnora Willie (Christian) Walk and Preston Walk in Sandusky.
Lorenzo grew up in Perkins Twp., and graduated from Perkins High School in 1972. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving overseas in Germany, where he received numerous citations of excellence while serving from 1972 to 1976, and discharged from stand by duty on June 18, 1979. Lorenzo and his family became active in St. Stephens A.M.E. Church, Sandusky, where he considered his grass roots of christianity .
Preston united in marriage to Darlene L. (Davis) Walk, to whom he was married 39 years; and to this union they were blessed with two children, Shantrel Onique' Walk and Julian Ashley (Latishya) Walk; granddaughters, J'nadia Ashley, Jayda Ashley, Brittani Kitara, and Bridget Kiana; great-grandson, Jaxson Alexander; and a sister, Gloria Pettis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Allen Hesea', Kimberly Douglas, and Gerald (Walk) McGowan.
Friends may call on Thursday, July 13, 2017, from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12 P.M. Noon in St. Stephens A.M.E. Church, 312 Neil St., Sandusky. Rev. Thomas Darden Sr. will officiate.
