Virginia Carol "Ginny" McMillen, 76, of Sandusky, passed away in Firelands Regional Medical Center on Monday, July 10, 2017.
Virginia Carol Smith was born on December 25, 1940 in Sandusky and graduated from Huron High School in 1959.
She was a homemaker and mother to two children, Lisa and James Gilchrist, III. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family.
Ginny is survived by her daughter, Lisa Gilchrist, of Sandusky; son, James (Heather) Gilchrist, III, of Sandusky; sisters, Patricia (Reginald) Vanhorn, of Tehkummah, Ontario, Canada, and Alma Reiter, of Lacooche, FL; two grandsons, Corbin and Evan Gilchrist, both of Sandusky; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Foster Edwin Smith and Isabelle Lillian Rothlisberger; two brothers, Allen and Roland Smith; sister, Beverly Walton; and husbands, James Gilchrist, II and Allen "Bud" McMillen.
At Ginny's request, cremation will take place.
Friends may call from 5 - 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., following visitation. She will be laid to rest at Peak Cemetery, Berlin Heights, OH, during a private burial at a later date.
