Gloria Ross Brackney, 95, of Huron, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2017 in Stein Hospice Care Center.
She was born on October 6, 1921 in Akron, Ohio to the late Elmer and Martha (Erdmann) McElroy.
She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sandusky. She retired from Ohio Edison after 26 years.
Gloria is survived by her children, Carol Bravard, of Pueblo West, CO, Stephen (Rosellen) Ross, of Broadview Heights, OH, David (Pat) Ross, of Westlake, OH, Kathleen (Dr. Frank) Parzynski, of Sandusky, Gloria J. Ross, of Fremont, OH, and Charlie (Carolyn) Ross, of Huron, OH; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ross; second husband, Paul Brackney; sisters, Mary Ernst and Marjorie Smith; brothers, Richard, Andrew, and Forrest McElroy; and four step-children.
Friends may call from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, August 6 in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 7, with one hour of visitation prior. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gloria's name to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
