Mary Bell Graves, 75, Sandusky, was called from labor to reward on Monday, August 7, 2017, in Stein Hospice Care Center, after a lengthy illness.
She was born on February 22, 1942 in Lawrence, AL, to the late Mack and Amelia Robinson.
Mary grew up in Alabama and moved to Sandusky in 1951, attending Sandusky High School.
She worked for Cedar Point many years, retiring in 2009.
On May 29, 1965, Mary married Douglas Graves with whom she celebrated 52 years of marriage. She was baptized in Jesus name and received the precious gift of the holyghost in 1978. Sister Mary is one the original founding members of Emmanuel Temple Church.
She has been a faithful and dedicated saint who loved praising the Lord. Mary served on the Usher Board, Pastor's Choir, and the former Gospel Ensemble. Sister Mary was presented Emmanuel Temple's 1990 Eagle Award, the Heritage Award in 2003, and was named Mother of the Year and became Church Mother in May of 2017.
She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Douglas; son, Douglas (Cleo) Graves Jr.; grandchildren, Chelsa, Douglas Graves III, and Christina; sister, Easter Williams; brother, Ernest Robinson; best friends, Shelia Vance and Eula Van Hall; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and her church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and ten brothers and sisters.
Friends may call on Friday, August 11, 2017, from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11 A.M. in Emmanuel Temple Church, 128 E. Adams St., Sandusky. Bishop Rufus G.W. Sanders will be the eulogist. Entombment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
