Ella Mae “Mom Mae” Barton Jackson Coleman, 82, Port Clinton, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2011, in Edgewood Manor.
She was born on January 11, 1929 in Portsmouth, OH.
Ella Mae loved gardening, music, dancing, collectibles, and the Lord. She was known in the family as an excellent cook.
She is survived by her son, Harold Michael “Mike” Jackson, Maryland, grandchildren, Jay Jackson Jr., Michael E. Jackson, Angela Jackson and Summer Jackson; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Rommel (Viola) McKinney, Darryl Barton, Juana Garrett, Bernell McKinney, and Triena (Stanley) Wooten, special great-niece, Dashiell; great-nephews, Steve, Darren and Brian; aunt, Bernell Ray; cousin, Louise Cunningham; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Coleman; son, Jay Jackson; parents, Oscar and Evalena (Wilson) Barton; twin sister, Evalena Bumphus; brothers, George Barton and Oscar Barton.
Friends may call on Wednesday, August 23, 2011, from 12 P.M. (Noon) until time of funeral services at 1 P.M. in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky. Rev. Clayton Howard will officiate. Eulogy will be given by Dr. Emmanuel Washington. Burial will be in Christy Chapel Cemetery, Port Clinton.
