William Henry "Bill" Stallings

William Henry "Bill" Stallings 83, Sandusky, went to his eternal home on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, in the Ohio Veteran's Home, under the care of Stein Hospice.

He was born March 6, 1934 in Cecil, Pennsylvania to the late William Henry and Marie (Johnson) Stallings Alexander.

William graduated from Sandusky High School in 1953. He served in the Navy and was a submariner on the USS Stickleback that sank in a collision with the destroyer USS Silverstein on May 28 1958. Bill was discharged from the Navy in 1962.

He married Otilia A Kellan on January 22, 1972.

Bill received his electrical engineering degree from DeVry University. He worked at NASA, Diebold and WTOF in Canton, and with the family owned SYNC Technologies.
He was baptized at Ebenezer Baptist Church where he sang in the church choir. Bill went from driving a white thunderbird as a young man to riding around in his fashionable motor chair at the Veteran's Home.

Surviving him are Terry Blevins , Clifford Stallings, Willa Canty, Leonard Stallings, Donna Stallings, Donald Stallings, David Stallings, and Derrick Stallings of Detroit, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his brother Lester in infancy, and sister, Gloria Gilmer.

Friends may call from 9 A.M. until time of funeral services at 10:15 A.M., Tuesday August 28 at the Ohio Veteran's Home Giffin Chapel, 3416 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Repass will be in the Ohio Veteran's Home Shelter.
