Christine Barfield Tye, 91, Sandusky, made her peaceful transition to be with the Lord before dawn on Monday August 21, 2017, in Providence Care Center.
Christine Barfield Tye was born September 25, 1923 to the late Thomas and Mabel Willabor Barfield in Port Clinton, Ohio.
Christine along with her brothers and sisters received her formal educational training in the Port Clinton Public School Systems.
She met and married the late Earl Tye and they remained a loving couple for 54 years until Earl's passing October 22, 2003.
To that union they were blessed to raise four children.
Christine was employed and managed the Lawson Dairy Mart store on Cleveland road during the mid 1960's and early 1970's.
After leaving the retail business, Christine was hired by Dixon Ticonderoga, better known as the American Crayon Company for 24years until her retirement. Her greatest joys in life, were raising her family, listening to music and playing cards.
Christine leaves to cherish her memories and rejoice in her peace one daughters; Miriam Tye and one son; Sanford Tye of Sandusky, whom she loved unconditionally, 4 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, special and dear sisters- in- law: Ruthie Tye and Luana Barfield, special niece Loretta Buxton and special nephew Bill Barfield, co-worker Esther Colvin and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mother Christine was preceded in death by her parents, son Sanford "Junie" Turner, sisters Dorothy Brown and Minnie Win, brothers Arthur, Bill, Millard and Thomas Barfield, husband Earl Tye in 2003, special nephew Billy H. Prophet Sr. in 2015 and daughter Victoria Tye Irby in 2016.
Friends may call on Monday August 28, 2017 from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12 P.M. Noon, in Toft Funeral Home and Crematory, 2001 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Pastor Darrell Gant of Eagle's Nest International Church will officiate Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
