Kenneth L. Powell, Jr., 70, of Sandusky, passed away Friday, September 1, 2017 at Stein Hospice Care Center surrounded by his loving family.
Ken was born on June 13, 1947 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late Kenneth Powell, Sr. and Marjorie (Motry) Speer.
Ken graduated from Margaretta High School in 1965 and retired from Ford Motor Company. He served with the United States Army in Vietnam. He was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, all in Sandusky. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, golfing and woodworking. His greatest joy of all was spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren.
Ken is survived by his daughter, Truli (Dan Borgner) Powell of Delaware, Ohio; sons, Shane (Debbie) Powell of Pennsylvania and Scott (Kellye) Powell of Delaware, Ohio; grandchildren, Liberty, Victoria, Zachary, David, Jena and Ella; sisters, Beth Melville of Amherst, Ohio and Patti (Jeff) Nikoli of Norwalk, Ohio and brother, John (Natalie) Powell of Sandusky, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, Ken is preceded in death by his loving wife, Patty (Wills) Powell and sister, Shirley Hodgkinson.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 4, 2017 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870. Entombment will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 11 am at Meadow Green Memorial Park, 2602 E. Bogart Road, Huron, OH 44839.
