Asa L. (Taylor) Seavers 79, Sandusky, went to her heavenly home on Friday, September 1, 2017, in Seasons of Life Hospice, Parma, OH.
She was born in Dexter, MO on December 15, 1937, to the union of Aaron and Violet (Peary) Taylor, and moved to Sandusky at an early age, attending Sandusky High School.
Asa met and married and married the love of her life, William L. Seavers in 1959, and they were married for 45 years. In 1983 she gave her life to the Lord and served full time in the ministry. For over a decade she traveled to prisons, detention centers, and hospitals spreading the word of God, leading others to Christ. She ran and operated an outreach ministry alongside her sister, Rev. Georgia Robinson, "The Restoration Center for Fallen Humanity", to cloth and feed those in need. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, listening to music, watching professional boxing, and she was a devoted fanatic of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Asa was also a great story teller captivating family and friends when she told about past experiences.
She will leave to treasure her memory and legacy, seven children, Toniette Taylor, Kimberly Seavers-Johnson, Kisha Seavers, Vernon Roberts, Joyce Ann Seavers, Bridget Seavers, and Andre Seavers; god son, Reginal Ross; sisters, Doris Chapman and Jettie Clinton; brother, Ricky Taylor; twenty grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Seavers, Sr.; sons, Kyle Skelton and William L. Seavers, Jr.; sisters, Margarette Taylor, Bessie Cornellious, and Pastor Georgia Robinson; brothers. Aaron Taylor Jr., and Richard Taylor in infancy; and grandson, Marlon D. Dickerson.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 8, 2017, at 11 A.M. in New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1920 Shelby St., Sandusky. Rev. Curtis L. Johnson, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky is handling the arrangements.
