Jean D. (Cross) Snelling, 88, residing in Norwalk, passed away Wednesday morning, September 6, 2017 at Norwalk Memorial Home.
Jean was born on December 5, 1928 in Alliance, OH to the late James and Alma (Radtke) Cross.
Jean graduated from Alliance High School in 1946. She retired as the office manager from Sandusky Motors in 1994 after 31 years. Jean was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She was a former member of Anna Circle of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and former volunteer at the Ohio Veterans Home.
Jean is survived by her daughters, Kathy (John) Scheel of Norwalk and Cindy (Mike) Hartman of Avon, IN; 5 grandsons, Jeffrey, Timothy and Stephen Scheel and Sean and Brian Hartman and 9 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" M. Snelling in 2000 and sister, Betty Bell.
The family would like to express gratitude to the nurses and staff at Norwalk Memorial Home for the exceptional care they provided and the love they gave during the past three and half years.
Friends may call on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 9:30 am until the time of funeral services at 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Dr. Eric Bodenstab will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family arrangements.
