Irene McLaughlin Miller - Grover, 82, of Republic, passed away Monday, August 22, 2011 at the Bellevue Care Center. She was born May 28, 1929 in New Haven Township, the daughter of Edward and Elizabeth (Waschura) Phillips.
Mrs. Miller was a member of St. Gaspar del Bufalo Catholic Church, and Altar Rosary Society. She attended New Haven School and was a 1947 graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Toledo. She enjoyed gardens, canning, preserving and tending to her flower garden.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Grover, whom she married May 28, 2002 at Reed Assumption Church. Three daughters, Rosemarie (Dennis) Jaeckin of Willard, Barbara Holt of Simi Valley, CA, Mary Martin (Al) Bandman of Shelby. Twelve step-children, Steve (Mattie) Miller of Republic, Charles Miller of Republic, William (Bev) Miller of Windsor, PA, Elizabeth Miller of Galion, Barbara (Walt) Dietrich of Fayetteville, N.C., Joanne (Richard) Bernard of Attica, Gina (Michael) Williams of Tiffin, Maggie (Paul) Anseline of Australia, Janet (Charles) Balduf of Attica, Mary (Edward) Werner of Sandusky, Paul (Nanci) Grover of Illinois, James (Vickie) Grover of Illinois; 41 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; One brother, Henry (Shirley) Phillips of New Haven, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband, Vernon McLaughlin in 1976, Second husband, Harold T. Miller in 2000; 5 children in infancy, brothers, Eugene, James, Thomas, and Clyde Phillips, a brother and a sister in infancy, and her grandson John Vernon Jaeckin.
Friends will be received on Friday, August 26, 2011 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. with a wake service beginning at 2 p.m. at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Gaspar del Bufalo Church 16209 E Seneca Co Rd 46, Bellevue, OH. Burial will follow at Reed Assumption Cemetery.
