John George Bostater

John George Bostater, 90, residing in Milan, went home to be with Lord, Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Stein Hospice Care Center.

John was born on August 19, 1927 at home on Mudbrook Rd. in Huron, OH to the late Charles and Margaret (Martin) Bostater.

John was a corporal in the US Army, where he was a cavalry man. During his service he was also a boxer. After he returned to the states he went to work as a carpenter, then went on to be a supervisor at Eastern States in Huron for 19 years. John was a member of Edison Memorial Methodist Church. He was also a lifetime member of the American Legion, AmVets and the Edison Boosters. He also had been a member of the VFW, Eagles and Carpenters Union. He had been a Red Cross blood donor, and had donated nearly 30 gallons.

John is survived by his daughters, Cathie Westcott of Norwalk and Susan (Terry) Ross of Huron; son, John G. Bostater Jr. of Milan; 10 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, John has joined his wife, Lorene R. (Borsick) Bostater in heaven, whom he missed dearly for 9 years; daughter, Patty Jo Bostater; grandson, Jeremy Bostater; great-granddaughter, Bethany Ann Hylton; son-in-law, Terry Westcott and several siblings.

Friends may call on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory Milan Chapel, 1 S. Main St., Milan. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am at Edison Memorial United Methodist Church, 10 E. Church St., Milan. Rev. Dr. Dale Thomas will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
