James R. Stott, 79, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Monday evening, October 2, 2017 in his home.
He was born September 4, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late William and Mildred E. (Marshman) Stott, and came to this area in 1954 from Chicago.
Jim retired from Tenneco of Milan, Ohio, in 2001 with over 30 years of service. He enjoyed socializing with his friends at Eagles Aerie #711, American Legion Post #41, and VFW Post #2743. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and going to his grandchildren's sporting events. He also enjoyed going to Casinos, fishing, boating, camping, was an Ohio State Buckeyes fan, collected lighthouses and Thomas Kinkade, and especially enjoyed the companionship of his dog, Zoey.
Jim is survived by his children, Tracy Stott-Souslin of Norwalk, Ohio, Heidi (Cory) Gentry of Norwalk, Ohio, Holly (Jerrmey) Herold of Cookeville, Tennessee, by 3 grandchildren, Hayley and Hannah Souslin, and Hayden Ruffing, and by his great grandchildren, Alyssa, Ava, Austin, and Anderson Gentry, Caleb and Chloe Lykins, and Caylee and Celsee Herold. He is also survived by his brother William (Carole) Stott of Florida, by his sister, Phyllis Martin of Norwalk, Ohio, and by his former spouse and friend, Mary G. Fritz of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimala K. Lowry in 2013, by infants Brenda and Kelly Stott, by 3 brothers, and by 5 sisters.
Friends may call on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, where funeral services will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Josh Arrington, Pastor of the Collins United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Collins Cemetery.
