James R. Brooker, 70, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Monday, October 2, 2017, in his home.
He was born March 11, 1947, in Logan, Ohio, to the late Robert and Mary (Keister) Brooker.
Jim came to Norwalk, Ohio, in 1971 from Laurel, (Ft. Meade) Maryland. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in Okinawa during the Vietnam War, and attended St. Peter Lutheran Church. Jim was a Postal Carrier for the Norwalk Post Office, was a former employee of Gilbert's Jewelry Store, Norwalk, Ohio, and Montgomery Ward's in the Sandusky Mall. He enjoyed reading, spending time on his computer, NASCAR, the Cleveland Brown's, Cleveland Indian's, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the companionship of his dogs.
Jim is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judy (Gilbert) Brooker of Norwalk, Ohio, by his children, Julie (Marcos) Andreotta of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jennifer (Brian) Trumpower of Norwalk, Ohio, and Jaclyn (James) Hammond of Columbus, Ohio, and by his grandchildren, Emily, Megan, Lily, Logan, and Benjamin.
He is also survived by his brother, Robert H. (Michelle) Brooker of Newark, Ohio.
There will be no calling hours or service. Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, is in charge of arrangements.
