Selina K. (Steel) Rubio, 38, residing in Urbandale, Iowa, and formerly of Sandusky, was granted her angel wings on Friday, August 19, 2011, in Des Moines, Iowa, after a lengthy illness.
She was born on September 29, 1972 in Sandusky, Ohio.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Eulise “Pelon” Rubio; daughters, Sabrinea R. (Beaty) Pugh, and Ashely M. Beaty; granddaughter, Nevaeh R. Pugh; mother, Santos (Frank) Steel-Wiggins; father, Vincent (Susan Melton) Steele; brothers, Shane (Noel) Steel, Jesus A. Steel, Kurt (Heather Braden) Steel, Jarrod R. Steel, Samuel Steele, and Brandon Steele; sisters, Luzita (Robert) Stone, and Jessica Steele; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and close family friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Rafael C. and Luzita O. Alvarez; paternal grandparents, Vincent and Phyllis Steele, and Carl and Pauline Troesch.
Friends may call on Friday, August 26, 2011, from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. A prayer service will be held at 4 P.M. with Rev. Chris Kardiz of Holy Angels Catholic Church. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 A.M. in the Salvation Army, 3333 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Lts. Michael & Angie Smith will officiate.
