Janet R. Helton, 67, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017 in her home.
She was born June 30, 1950 in Sandusky, Ohio, to the late Raymond A. and Helen M. (Clements) Young, and was a lifelong area resident.
Janet was a 1968 graduate of Monroeville High School, where she was a member of the Drama Club. She also was a member of the Zion Episcopal Church, Monroeville, Ohio, where she sang in the church choir. Janet enjoyed cooking, playing in her pool league, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Amie M. (Sean) Martin of Vermilion, Ohio, Tracy A. Zerman of Monroeville, Ohio, and Bill M. Barber of Norwalk, Ohio, 9 grandchildren, Ashlee, Evan, Jason, Emma, Ethan, Abby, Stephen, Elena, and Natalie, and two great grandchildren, Bella, and Maddie.
Janet is also survived by her sister, Sandy Lonz of Monroeville, Ohio, and by her niece, Jennifer (Brandon) Meagrow.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas A. Young, by her sister, Judith Young, by her brother in law, Duane Lonz, and by her nephew, Elliot Lonz.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. in Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville, Ohio. Rev. Margaret D'Anieri, Pastor of St. Paul Episcopal Church will officiate. Friends may call on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, following the graveside service, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Huron County Humane Society, 246 Woodlawn Avenue, Norwalk, Ohio.
