Judith Claire Saunders Douglas

Judith Claire Saunders Douglas, 85, of Norwalk passed away Wednesday evening, October 18, 2017 in the Norwalk Memorial Home, Norwalk following a full and wonderful life.

She was born June 2, 1932 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky to Roy & Golden Saunders.

She has lived in Norwalk for the past 59 years. Judy was a 1950 graduate of Mt. Sterling High School, 1954 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and earned her Master's Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University. During the summer of 1953, Judy met her husband to be, Robert Douglas while working at Cedar Point as a bellhop and waitress.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Norwalk where she was active in many activities, including the Church Circle. She was also a member of Daughters of American Revolution, College Women's Club, Research Club, Garden Club, and a 50-year member of the Bridge Club. Her hobbies included genealogy, visiting the 50 State Capitols, and traveling.

She is survived by one daughter, Bobbi E. Douglas of Wooster; one son, Wes A. Douglas of Norwalk; three grandchildren, Hannah and Ally Douglas and Jaden Clay; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Douglas in 2005; her parents, Roy and Golden (Wells) Saunders; and one brother, Ralph Saunders.

Friends may call on Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk and on Monday, October 23, 2017 from 10:00 AM until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM in the First Presbyterian Church, 21 Firelands Blvd, Norwalk, Ohio. The Rev. Clair H. Brewer will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
