Laurentina E. "Laura" LaConte, 91, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017 in Gaymont Nursing Center.

She was born July 9, 1926 in Providence, Rhode Island, to Joseph and Mary (Amaral) Eugenio, and came to this area in 1955 from Providence.

Laura was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, where she volunteered for the funeral luncheon committee, was a member of the Women of St. Paul, and a former member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, and the Bowling Hall of Fame. Laura was a former employee of Davol Rubber Company in Providence, and was a former cafeteria worker at St. Paul School. She also had worked at Fanny Farmer Candy Company, and Schild's IGA. Laura enjoyed bowling, knitting, sewing and needle point, golf, playing cards, cake decorating, and was well known for her Christmas cookies. Laura especially enjoyed being with her family, and granddaughter.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James F. LaConte of Norwalk, Ohio, by her sons and daughters in law, Stephen and Kathleen LaConte of Norwalk, Ohio, and Michael and Judith LaConte of Wakeman, Ohio, and by her granddaughter, Stephanie LaConte.

Laura is also survived by her sister, Doris Miller of Riverside, Rhode Island, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Eugenio, and by her sister, Mary Gray Hoyle.

Friends may call on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 in St. Paul Catholic Church, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Msgr. Kenneth Morman will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
