Judith Ann (Maroni) Schwerer, 74, of Sandusky, passed away Thursday morning, November 2, 2017 at Firelands Regional Medical Center.
Judy was born on March 10, 1943 in Sandusky, OH to the late Marino and Ann (Ciresi) Maroni.
She was a member of the first graduating class of Perkins High School in 1961. She had been employed at Cedar Point, State Farm Insurance agents for 28 years and the Sts. Peter & Paul School cafeteria. Judy was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, current vice-president of the Altar Rosary Society and a member of the Daughters of Isabella. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, cooking, crafting, puzzles, and reading.
Judy is survived by her husband, Thomas Schwerer, whom she married on November 28, 1964. She is also survived by her daughter, Susan (James) Shickley of Sandusky; sister, Rose Duskin of Bellevue; brothers, Kenneth Maroni of NY and Ralph Maroni of AZ; cat, Callie and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, Judy is preceded in death by her sister, Donna Jean in 1943.
Friends may call on Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 9:30am on Monday, November 6, 2017 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Father Joe Steinbauer will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Sandusky.
