Richard H. Cowley, 72, formerly of Toledo, passed away Friday, Nov. 17, 2017 at the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky.
He was born to the late Raymond Levi Cowley and Annette (Huebner) Cowley on March 27, 1945.
Richard attended Toledo Public Schools and proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine, completing two tours of duty in Vietnam where he survived some of the fiercest fighting at Khe Sanh.
Surviving are his sisters Linda (Tom) Crothers, Jan (Jack) Webb, Lori Cowley and brother Raymond Cowley, along with many nieces and nephews.
The family also wants to recognize Richard's extended family at the Ohio Veterans Home where he has been a longtime resident. We cannot say enough about the staff at the Ohio Veterans Home and the level of attention that they paid to Richard and the family.
Friends may call Tuesday November 21, 2017 from 1:00 PM until time of Military Service at 1:30 PM in the Giffin Chapel of the Ohio Veterans Home, 3416 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Interment will follow in the Ohio Veterans Home cemetery.
