Pastor Mary E. "Sue" Davis, Sandusky, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a brief Illness.
Mary was born in Sandusky, OH on July 4, 1940 to the late Charles Latimer and Iren Norris.
She attended Sandusky City Schools. Mary accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Saviour at an early age and joined Porter's Memorial Christian Methodist Church where she served on the Usher Board and Stewardess Board. After serving several years at Porter's, Mary felt a greater call on her life and became a member of Sonship Fellowship Church in Sandusky in 1984.
On June 23, 1995, Sister Davis was ordained as a Pastor into the ministry. It was then that the Jesus is Real Ministry was formed, under the leadership of Pastor Linda Morgan and Pastor Mary Davis. Pastor Davis served as copastor. After Pastor Morgan left, the church branched off to form another ministry; Greater Faith Ministry, which Pastor Davis and co-Pastor Frances Jacobs both served as pastors. Due to the lack of workers in the vineyard the new church dissolved.
Pastor Davis's love for the Lord and his righteousness did not stop there. In 2015 she became a member of Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Superintendent Ross Johnson and his lovely wife, Evangelist Shelia Johnson.
Pastor Mary Davis retired from General Motors Delphi Chassis in 1993.
In 1957 Mary met and married Randy Yancey and to that union were born three children. Later in life she met and married the late James Davis in 1986 and they both shared many good times together until his untimely death in 1999.
Pastor Davis leaves to cherish her legacy three children; Stephanie Yancey, Cincinnati, Ohio, George Yancey and Cheryl Yancey both of Sandusky, Ohio, one
