Alice Reineke age 86 of Bellevue passed away Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Primrose of Marion, Marion, OH. She was born June 8, 1925 in Peru Twp., Huron County, OH the daughter of the late Joseph & Elizabeth (Ricker) Meyers.
Alice was homemaker, a member of Immaculate Conception Church, St. Ann’s Study Club, the Altar Rosary Society and was a former Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader.
She met her husband Joseph J. Reineke while volunteering in the canteen at St. John’s Cathedral during WWII. They married Oct. 8, 1946 in Bellevue. He preceded her in death Sep. 17, 2010.
Survivors include his son, Douglas (Dee) Reineke of LaVale, MD, daughters, Joan Koechley of Annapolis, MD, Marlene (Richard) Bushman of Grove City, OH, Sister Marie Julie, SND “Mary Kay” of Gainesville, FL, Sandra (J. Thomas) Gleespen of Prospect, OH, grandchildren, Brian, Kirsten, K.C., Rebecca, Todd, Rachel, Sarah, Timothy, David, Joseph, Valerie, Janis, Joyce, 7 great grandchildren, sisters, Marianne (Ed) Moneghan of PA. and Bette (Jim) Ruppert of Bellevue. In addition to her parents and husband, her sister Marguerite Meyers and brothers, Elmer, Charles and Ralph Meyers preceded her in death.
Friends will be received Friday, Sep. 2, 2011 from 9:00 – 10:30 am at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, OH 44811. A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday at 11:00 am in Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center St., Bellevue. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
