Rosie Lee (Harris) Brown

Rosie Lee (Harris) Brown, 86, Sandusky, departed this life to be with the LORD on Saturday, November 25, 2017 in Stein Hospice Care Center.

Rosie Lee (Harris) Brown was born on January 12, 1931, in Columbus, Mississippi to the late L.C. and Ellen Harris.

She was one of seven children and accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age while attending Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Columbus, Mississippi. Rosie lived a faithful and prayer filled life. On September 9, 1950 she married Jefferson Brown II and later moved to Sandusky. They were blessed with seven children. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Rosie enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family. She was employed by Sands Hotel, Providence Hospital, Ontario/Rinks Department Store, and the National Caucus on Black Aging. She was a charter member of Porter's Memorial CME Church where she sang in the choir and served as a Missionary, Usher and Stewardess. She was also a member of Greater Faith Church and a member of the Lake View Chapter Order of Eastern Stars #65.

Rosie leaves to cherish her memories, six children: Rosie Nell Brown of Toledo, OH, Jefferson (Kim) Brown III of San Diego, CA, Willie Brown of Cleveland, OH, Blendia Brown of Sandusky, OH, Laurie (Henry) Brown of St. Petersburg, FL and Julie (Walter) Zeigler of San Antonio, TX. Ten grandchildren: Stacey Brown, Donna Brown, Edward Brown, Jaime Price, Nicholas Brown, Breanna Brown, Genell Brown, Walter Zeigler II, Jessika Brown, and Curtiss Brown. Eight-teen great grand-children, one Sister Emma Harris of Columbus, Mississippi and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Rosie was preceded in death by her husband Jefferson Brown, son Jonell Brown, grandsons Donald Brown and Jefferson Brown IV, great granddaughters Raelyn Nicole Castelow and Lila Rose Brown, cousin Catherine Ruffin, her Father, Mother, two brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 2, 2017, at 10:00 AM in Porter's Memorial CME Church, 1722 Third Street Sandusky, Ohio, followed by the Home Going Celebration at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
