Evelyn Behrendsen, 87, of Sandusky, passed away in Providence Care Center on Friday, December 1, 2017 following a lengthy illness.
She was born on August 29, 1930 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late Louis and Mary (Francis) Young. Evelyn graduated from Sandusky High School in 1948. She played the piano and violin.
She was a family-oriented person, and very devoted to her husband, sons, granddaughters, and other family members.
She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She worked at a local
bank and for the Erie County Board of Realtors.
Evelyn is survived by her two sons, James (Melinda) Behrendsen and Paul (Susan)Behrendsen; four granddaughters, Emily (John) Mann, Julie (Zach) Boehnlein,
Marie (Alex) Ho, andAnna Behrendsen, three great granddaughters, Angelina,
Lily, and Kim Ho; sisters, Lois Doyle and Marilyn McKinney; and several
nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Alfred Behrendsen; and her brother, Charles Young.
Private services will be held by the family. Memorial contributions for Evelyn maybe made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2211 Mills St., Sandusky, OH 44870.
