Thomas Cromer Jr., 81, Sandusky, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Sandusky on September 30, 1936 to the late Thomas and Rosa (Pressley) Cromer Sr.
Thomas was retired from Ford Motor Company as Superintendent after 37 years, served as a deputy for the Erie County Sheriff from 1973 to 1996, court officer, Perkins Township from 2005 to 2012.
He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, former Second Baptist Church, trustee, former member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, and a member of the Mason Progress Lodge #85 F. & A.M.
He is survived by his children, Myra R. Aaron and Thomas Tracy (Danelle) Cromer Sr., both of Sandusky, and Troy G. (Natalie L.) Cromer, Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Fonda E. (Frank J.) Hughes, Alon T. Aaron, David J. Aaron, Thomas T. Cromer Jr., Brittney C. Miller, Ariel L. Miller, Noah Cromer, Terrence V. Cromer, and Abrianna M. Cromer; twelve great-grandchildren; Fiance, Ruth Moore, Sandusky; her children, and grandchildren; sister, Mary Elaine Cromer, Sandusky; best friend, Ben (Terrie) Matthews, many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mable G. Cromer; parents; step mother, Etrue Cromer; and a sister, Betty Cromer.
Friends may call on Sunday, December 10, 2017, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be held Monday at 12 P.M. Noon in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky. Bishop Clifton Jones will officiate. Pastor Bobbie Garrett will provide the eulogy. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
