Joyce Ann (Meyer) Keller Schafer, 85, of Sandusky passed away early Thursday morning, December 14, 2017 in the Providence Care Center, Sandusky following a lengthy illness.
Joyce was born July 7, 1932 in Bellevue and was the owner of the former Keller's Old German Bakery until her retirement.
She was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Erie County Board of Elections, Democratic Women's Committee, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Farm Bureau.
She loved playing bingo, cards, and dice games. Joyce enjoyed volunteering in the activities department and attending church services during her time at Providence Care.
She is survived by two sons, Duane Keller and Dean (Jerina) Keller both of Sandusky; one daughter, Karen (Mike) Brooks of Dimondale, Michigan; six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; one sister, Linda (Paul) Smith of Bellevue; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bernard C. Keller; second husband, Harold Schafer; two sons, Dennis A. Keller and Charles B. Keller; her parents, Elmer and Florence (Callan) Meyer; and one brother, Richard Meyer.
Graveside services will be held Monday, December 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Sand Hill Cemetery, Corner of Mason & Skadden Road, Sandusky. Deacon Jeff Claar will officiate. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
