Barbara “Bonnie” Mae Blatt, 82, Kelleys Island, passed away, Tuesday, August 30, 2011, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 11, 1929 on Kelleys Island and was a Kelleys Island graduate.
Bonnie worked for Philco and along with her husband Ted, owned and operated Ted Blatt Sohio in Sandusky.
She was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church, Kelleys Island, a volunteer for the V.F.W. on Kelleys Island, loved baking, the SOS luncheons, and all social activities with her friends. Her contagious smile and laughter will be missed by her family that loved her and she loved so much.
She is survived by her husband Ted, to whom she was married 61 years, September 2, 1950; children, Deb (Keith) Haig, Bowling Green, OH, and Rob (Brenda) Blatt, Hilliard, OH; grandchildren, Kelsey, Megan, Tristan, Tyler and Tory; brother, Herbert (Ardrita) Bickley and Lyle Bickley, both of Sandusky, Logan (Joan) Bickley, Huron, and Randy Bickley, Davey, FL; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Elizabeth (Feyedelem) Bickley; and her sister, Nadine Brown.
A memorial mass will be held Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 11 A.M. in St. Michaels Catholic Church, 219 Chappel St., Kelleys Island. Rev. Christopher Bazar will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, or to the Lutheran Memorial Home, 795 Bardshar Rd., Sandusky, or to Kelleys Island Historical Association, 224 Division St., Kelleys Island, OH 43438.
