William H. White Sr., 70, residing in Sandusky, passed away Sunday evening, December 24, 2017 at Firelands Regional Medical Center.
William was born on September 14, 1947 in Shiloh, NC to the late Daniel and Catherine (Barnard) White.
He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. William was a member of the Masonic Lodge Temple #28, Knights Templar, Shriners, and Eastern Star. He enjoyed coaching Amvets baseball, his job, cars, especially corvettes and his grandkids.
William is survived by his wife of 45 years, Doris (Johnson) White. He is also survived by his sons, Terry Duncan and William White Jr.; grandchildren, Darshawn, Patience, William III, and Wyatt White, Terry Duncan Jr., Tea, Theresa and Tyler; special granddaughter, Ciara Montgomery; sisters, Faye White, Vernice (Joseph) Norman and Jacqueline White; brothers, Cecil (Mildred), Daniel W. (Clotia) Jr. and Johnny B. (Robin) White; sisters-in-law, Gloria Jean (James) Brown and Diane Johnson; brother-in-law, Semon (Charlene) Johnson Jr. and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor Obi and brother, Jay Van White.
Friends may call on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held on Saturday in the funeral home at 11:00 am. William's brother, Pastor Daniel W. White Jr. will officiate. Entombment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
