Eugene R. Perry, 84, Port Clinton, died Tuesday morning in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born July 26, 1933, in Sandusky, and following graduation from high school joined the United States Army.
He had a long career with the Army which included serving in both Korea and Vietnam, and retired after nearly thirty years and attaining the rank of Master Sargeant. He spent most of his life stationed in Germany, and it was there that he met and married his wife, Lorrie. He enjoyed fishing in his younger days.
Eugene is survived by his nephew, Ron Perry of Bay View, his sister-in-law, Agnes Trautman of Sandusky, and several other nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Lorrie, he was preceded in death by his parents, Bert & Georgia (Mineard) Perry, sister, Genevieve Sample, and brothers, Bert, Jr., William, Donald and Worthy Perry.
Cremation will take place at Eugene's request. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling the arrangements.
