Monte Lamar Tucker, 81, Sandusky, died on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at his residence.
He was born on July 30, 1930 in Fremont, Ohio. He graduated from Fremont High School.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.
Monte was an insurance agent for Prudential Insurance for twenty-three years, retiring in 1992, and was a barber for many years.
He was a member of the Marks Lodge F. & A.M. and a 32nd Degree Mason Valley of Toledo, AMVETS Post 17, Sandusky, Huron Eagles, American Legion Post 83, Sandusky and V.F.W. Post 2529, Sandusky. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He was a loving and compassionate, husband, father, grandfather brother, and friend.
Monte is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Molnar) Tucker; children, Dee Conti, Sandusky, Nancy (Dave) Roth, Fremont; Monte Tucker, II, Sandusky, Steve Tucker, Killeen, TX, Jennifer Cotsmire, Hilliard, OH, and Elizabeth (Dan) St. Pierre, Lutz, FL; seven grandchildren, Jon, his fiancée, Jenna Kastor , Robert, Brooke Bethany, Grace, Trinity, and Faith; sisters, Barbara Bennett, Oxnard, CA, and JoAnn Hillman, Oak Harbor, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Eva (Opelt) Tucker; brother, Earl Tucker, Jr., in 1983, and granddaughter, Nicole, in 1990.
Friends may call on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 from 9 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11 A.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. John Mawhirter will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 2:45 P.M. on Wednesday in Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont.
