Frank "Dutch" Slocum, 90, of Summerville, South Carolina, and formerly of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Monday, January 15, 2018 in Summerville.
He was born January 21, 1927 in Berlin Heights, Ohio, and lived in this area most of his life.
Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during W.W. II. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Norwalk, Ohio, Firelands Post #2743 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Ken Bur Bell Post #41 American Legion, the Painters Union, and several area dart ball leagues. Frank was a former driver for the Gulf Oil Company, Eastern States Company of Huron, Ohio, and retired as a painter from Cedar Point, Sandusky, Ohio, in 1986. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, and playing dart ball.
Frank is survived by his children, Timothy (Robin) Slocum of Summerville, South Carolina, Mark A. (Mary) Crumrine of Norwalk, Ohio, and Sherrie (Jimmie) Germany of Central, Louisiana, by 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Slocum in 2017, and by his siblings, Delbert, Fred, and Johnnie Slocum, Eva Rose Wilbur, Ella May Slocum, and Clara Slocum.
Friends may call on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., in St. Peter Lutheran Church, 243 Benedict Avenue, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Ann Marshall will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk, Ohio.
