Ernest E. Clemons, Jr.

Ernest E. Clemons, Jr., 62, of Sandusky, was called to his heavenly home on Friday, January 12, 2018 after a short illness.

He was born on April 26, 1955 in Cleveland to the late Ruth and Ernest Clemons, Sr.

Ernest accepted Christ into his life at an early age and attended the 86th & Euclid Church of God in Cleveland. Later, he rededicated his life and joined Agape Love Ministries where he served on the Usher Board. As a young adult, Ernest enjoying being a part of the Boy Scout League and eventually became a Boy Scout Leader, serving in the Sandusky community. Ernest graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1974.

After graduating high school, he moved to Sandusky. He began to work for Sears, Roebuck & Co., giving them 27 years of service. He later became employed with CertainTeed until his passing. Besides working, he enjoyed hanging out with his family and friends, fishing, traveling, bowling, and watching sports. If anyone knew Ernest, they knew he loved his team, the Cleveland Browns, to the fullest.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 19 years, Frances Clemons; three children, JaVonda Williams, Darion Williams, and Mya Clemons, all of Sandusky; four grandchildren, Julian Wilson, Islah and Kaivon Williams, and Lorenzo Moncure, all of Sandusky; his God Son, Amier Sanders, of Sandusky; Foster Mom, Betty Williams, of Cleveland; eight siblings, Lillian Clemons, Susan Clemons, Carmella (Allen) Bryant, and Cosetta (Saeed) Uqdah, all of Cleveland, Jocelyn (Earl), of Solon, Willie Bailey, of Oklahoma City, Teresa (James) Johnson, of Las Vegas, and Valencia (Larry) Rojas, of Sacramento. He cherished a special relationship with his in-laws, Levon Williams and Dawn (Charles) Williams, all of Sandusky, Yvonne (Sammie) Marshall, of Columbus, and Orlando Williams, of Jackson, MS; and is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews; and two close friends, Raymond Lawson and Todd Gaddis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Ruth Clemons, Sr.; Foster Father, John Williams; and brother, Darrell Clemons.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 20 until time of funeral services at 10 a.m. in Agape Love Ministries, 4013 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Bishop Clifton T. Jones, Sr. will provide the eulogy. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements.
