Carol Ann Dee, 83, Sandusky, OH, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children early Thursday morning, January 18, 2018, following a two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer.
She was born on July 3, 1934, to the late John and Evaden (Keegan) Dee, and was a 1952 graduate of St. Mary's Catholic High School.
A stay-at-home mom for many years, she had been employed with the former Providence Hospital and retired from the Ford Motor Company, Sandusky Plant, in 2001. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and UAW Local 1216. Carol was a generous and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, devoted to her family and Catholic faith.
Carol will be greatly missed by her children, Dee Conti and Monte Tucker, both of Sandusky, and Nancy (Dave) Roth, of Clyde, OH; grandchildren, Jon (Jenna) Conti of Avon Lake, OH, Rob (Kristin) Roth of Fremont, OH, Brooke (Shawn) Griffin of Tiffin, OH, and Bethany (Mark Lazzara) Conti of Sandusky; great-grandchildren, Myla, Emersyn, Tucker, and an additional great-grandson due late January; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her father on April 28, 1977, and mother on April 19, 2013; son, Steven Tucker, on August 19, 2012; granddaughter, Nicole Conti, on May 24, 1990; sister, Mary Kay Dee, on November 3, 2007; and her beloved four-legged companion, Jessie, in 2016.
Family and friends will be received from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m., Sunday, January 21, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m., Monday, January 22, at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, with the Rev. Joe Steinbauer officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved son, Steven.
