Anna L. (Young) Taylor

Anna L. (Young) Taylor, 94, of Sandusky, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2018 at The Meadows at Osborn Park after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Anna was born on February 15, 1923 in McKees Rocks, PA to the late William Wesley Young and Mary Bell Keith Young.

Anna grew up along the Ohio River and graduated from Union Township High School in 1941. She worked at the Shenango China Pottery in New Castle, PA. Anna married Herbert M. Taylor on April 28, 1947 and celebrated their 70th anniversary last spring. The moved to Sandusky in the mid 1950's for Herb's work at the Sandusky Ford Plant.

Anna is survived by her daughter, Lois Ann Eckhardt of Sandusky; sons, Michael (Paige Doster) Taylor of Sandusky, Edward Taylor of Sandusky and Herbert Taylor Jr. of Castalia; grandchildren, Josh Armbrecht, Amy Mareco, Melanie Bauman, Mathew, Erin and Jared Taylor and Devin, Patrick and Christopher Wingader; 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Anna is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Taylor Sr. in 2017 and her stepbrother, Henry Keith.

Friends may call on Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 in the funeral home at 11:00 am. Rev. Ken Hiser will officiate. Entombment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.

The family would like to thank Dr. James Wysor and staff for the excellent care; the residents, staff, and administration of the Meadows at Osborn Park for the love and wonderful care during Anna's stay; and Stein Hospice for the care and support during Anna's final weeks.
