Harold Jenkins, 82, residing in Sandusky, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.
Harold was born on April 3, 1935 in Dickenson County, VA to the late Loafie and Effie (Holbrook) Jenkins.
Harold had been employed in the coal mines, Waldock Packing, Peerless Stove & Manufacturing Company, and retired from Starr Mink Ranch in 1985 after many years of service. He was a member of the Cline Street Freewill Baptist Church in Norwalk, OH. In addition, Harold was a pastor at the Ridgewood Chapel in Castalia since 1975. In his spare time, he enjoyed the Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.
Harold is survived by his wife, Margaret Kathleen (Hamm) Jenkins, whom he married on October 27, 1956; daughter, Carolyn (Harry) Perdue of Crestview, FL; 4 sons, Steve (Deb) of N. Fort Meyers, FL, Paul (Patty) of Perrysburg, OH, Allen (Kristin) of Sandusky, and Curtis (Theresa) Jenkins of Sandusky; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Vangeline Chafin, Brenda Hobbs and Phyllis Denton; 6 brothers, Earl, Glen, Johnny, Ronald, Billy and Rick Jenkins; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Harold is preceded in death by his sister, Kay Jenkins and two brothers, Gene and Robert Jenkins.
Friends may call on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Pastor Bill Smith presiding. Entombment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH.
