Jacqueline A. (Gant) Collins, "Momma Collins", 67 of Sandusky went home to be with her Lord Savior on January 15, 2018, in the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born February 18, 1950 to Albert and Elizabeth (Vance) Gant of Sandusky.
She was a 1968 graduate of Sandusky High School. She married R.J. Collins on February 20, 1971. To this union two daughters were born, Elizabeth (Delonce) and Roberta.
When Jackie wasn't supporting her beloved Blue Streaks, she was a Nurse's Aide at Providence Hospital. After several years at Providence, Jackie tried Home Health Care and then went to Erie County Care Faculty. While at Erie County Care, she made sure her patients felt loved by planning outings reading them letters from their loved ones. She could also be seen coaching and supporting athletes from Bellevue, Huron, Norwalk, Norwalk St. Paul, St. Mary's, Perkins, South Central and Ashland in track and field.
Jackie was "Born and Raised a Blue Streak!" After graduating in 1968, Jackie joined the Sandusky Athletic Booster Club. While a member of the Booster Club, she was president and past president. Jackie spear headed several projects such as turf shoe fund, weight room, stadium chairs, scorer's table, and turf field. Jackie could be found working the concession stand, selling 50/50, helping with elementary programs or roaming the sidelines cheering on her babies. Jackie spent many years volunteering her time to make Sandusky City Schools the best place to receive a top-notched education and making sure every student she comes in contacted with felt loved.
She was survived by her husband, two daughters, adopted son Andre Seavers, sister Adrianne Gant. Aunts Mildred Gant, Ernestine Myers, Joan Myers and Uncles David (Barb) and Donald (Danni) Vance. Daughter-in-Law Elizabeth Broglia-Randleman. Cousin Nina Gant - Miller Nieces Dainelle Kirkwood, goddaughter, Alonda Gant. Nephews Lamar Kirkwood, Al Kirksey, Darnell Kirkwood, and Eric Irby. Grandchildren: Calvin (Maria) Randleman, Bianca Black, Kaylia Black, Jasmine Gagne, Santino Randleman and Madolyn Randleman. Great grandchildren Colten Randleman and Carmahni Bennett. Great nieces and nephews and cousins. Special Friend Renee Johnson and Fred and Deb Adams. Adopted daughters Cindy (Pat) Rayford, Nicole (Mike) Fennell, Vickie (Nate) Richardson Amy Hunscke, Tashonda Gough and adopted sons Felix Chaney, Fred Chaney, Marco (Juanette) Roberts, Chris Corso, Mike Delk, Mark (Shannon) Blevins, Corey Croom and a host of others adopted children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, sister Maria Gant -Kirkwood, brother Albert M. Gan and adopted son Kevin C. Randleman. Several aunts and uncles.
Friends will be received from 3-7 pm Friday Jan. 26th at Ebenezer Baptist Church 1215 Pierce St, Sandusky. Funeral services will be 12:00 pm Saturday Jan. 27th at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Pastor Clayton Howard will officiate, and burial will be at Oakland Cemetery.
